Pure Cremation Test Valley
We successfully won Outline Planning Permission on Appeal in 2000 for a crematorium. Reserved matters were subsequently granted and the access to it was commenced. However, the crematorium was not built out until the site was sold in 2017 when we were approached again, to obtain a Certificate to demonstrate that the permission was still live.
In 2017, we were asked by the new owner to assist with obtaining full permission for the erection of a new crematorium, access roads and associated parking. Planning permission was granted in June 2018.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic which increased the demand for cremations, an application to increase the fuel supply to help to meet the demand for cremations was submitted in May 2020. Planning permission was granted for the additional fuel tanks in March 2021.
The owner of the site provides direct cremations, as well as cremation services and required further space on site to accommodate their business due to increased demand. Therefore, in March 2022, a planning application was submitted to extend the existing crematorium. The proposed extensions have been sensitively designed to ensure they integrate well with the existing built form on site as well providing the additional space the business requires. This application was approved in October 2022.
